Chris Akins Professional Biography

Chris Akins

Chris Akins – CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors

Chris is a seasoned corporate executive and entrepreneur with extensive international experience. He founded Trident Consulting, LLC in 2000 with a vision of providing professional training and consulting services that focused not only on individual functional capabilities, but on integrating all of the organizations functions into a synergistic entity. He believes the most successful organizations operate not as distinct departmental functions serving individual goals, but as a cooperative aiming to accomplish the organizations strategic objectives. Hence Trident’s motto: “Professional Training and Consulting Services for Business Integration.”

After serving twelve years both as an NCO and as a Commissioned Officer on active duty in the US Navy on surface ships and submarines, Chris joined Rolls-Royce Energy Systems as a Value Engineer.  During his six year tenure with Rolls-Royce, Chris completed US and international tours of increasing levels of leadership responsibility in the project management and supply chain management functions within each of the company’s major divisions, including Energy, Oil & Gas, Naval Marine (Defense), Investments & Services and Aerospace.  After a successful four year tour with Rolls-Royce in the United Kingdom, Chris accepted a position with Alcoa, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA managing the company’s capital equipment procurement team, gaining extensive knowledge in refinery and mining technologies.  Prior to dedicating himself full time to developing Trident, Chris managed the operational supply chain team at Clipper Windpower, a fast growing manufacturer of wind turbines. 

In addition to being the CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trident Consulting, LLC, Chris is also a volunteer Trainee Therapist at a local counseling center in Santa Barbara, where he is working towards satisfying requirements for licensure as a Marriage & Family Therapist, and completion of his MS in Clinical Psychology. 

Chris is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. General Engineering, and earned his Executive MBA from the University of Bath while living and working in the United Kingdom.
